I Lost My Laugh in the Revolution chronicles the life of a Generation X woman trying to make sense of a legacy of too many things gone wrong: the feminist movement splintered; the Black Power movement faded. The revolution, as they called it, went awry – and took our sense of humor with it. I Lost My Laugh delivers a much-needed respite from election-season mania, and reminds us that while we should never lose our hope, the one thing we absolutely cannot lose is our ability to laugh at ourselves.
